I continued on the engine disassembly today. One of the first things I did was remove the idler gears, and the mystery bolt.
There is a case bolt that lives behind the cam gear that needs to be removed to split the case.
I took a picture of how all of the bolts were saftied on the cam geartrain.
Here is the other idler gear drive.
And safety wire on the case bolts near the oil sump.
