I started on the axles by checking the alignment with the fishing line method in the plans. I didn't have a great spacer, but it looked to be well aligned, I checked with the spacers on the front and back of the axle.
I installed the axles, later I discovered I needed all of the fittings in an caliper and gear legs before bolting them in place, so it all had to come back off.
